Development

SaCKA continually tries to develop the sport of korfball.

It develops its clubs, sharing best practice and supporting them in acheiving ClubMark accreditation, as well as other programmes such as EKInspired.

It supports with the development of new clubs within the area, offering assistance through equipment and kit loans, support to complete grant applications and putting the right people in touch with each other to form important player networks (and even sending coaches and volunteers out and about to offer on the ground support).

It develops its players, sending teams to compete in both inter-area events and inter-county championships. In fact, SaCKA is proud to be ranked the 8th strongest area in the country of 2010/2011 🙂 OK, so we actually finished in last place on the day, but at least we sent a team and competed! If you are interested in competing in next year’s Inter Areas, or being involved with the squad in any other way (coaching etc) please contact chair@staffs.korfball.org.uk with your expression of interest.

SaCKA also develops its coaches and referees, regularly either organising or participating in nationally recognised courses.

And finally, SaCKA is making huge progress in developing youth korfball, delivering taster sessions and (occasional) after school korfball clubs.
